What’s a transaction fee?

The $2.95 transaction fee is a flat fee that is automatically added to each supporter’s transaction. This fee supports the maintenance and care of the TeacherGiving platform, ensuring we can continue making a difference in education. It does not come out of the donation contributed to the educator but helps us provide a seamless and secure experience for all users.

What’s an interchange fee?

The interchange fee is a variable rate charged by the card holder’s bank and automatically deducted from the donation when a supporter chooses to pay by card. This fee, issued by card networks, covers the costs of processing credit and debit card transactions, ensuring secure and efficient payment handling. If supporters choose to pay by ACH transfers, this fee is not applied. Additionally, supporters have the option of paying this in lieu of it being deducted from the educator’s donation.
